Yep, another suby. Tow truck delivered it, all I know it had knocking in the motor, 09 legacy (I didn’t know the color) 110k miles, 1 owner, $3k.
She’s looking real good, I can’t wait to clean her up a bit. I think I lucked out on this one.

Sure is clean and pretty. Have fun with that knock, though...

I don't think it's rod knock. But $1900 for a short block and gasket kit and I'll still be ahead quite a bit on a car that's worth 9-11k in my area.

I mean honestly, for $3k, that looks fantastic. It could have just had a big hole where the engine is, and it would still seem pretty good for $3k. Nice price all day, every day.

That’s pretty much what I was expecting. What I got is 100x better. I’m almost certain it’s not rod knock now. This might make a quick flip so I can put a blower on my m3...

Nice! Where did you purchase it from? (Ebay, Craigslist, etc.)

My BooRoo sounds like it has a knock every time I start it. Goes away in a few minutes. I always attributed it to the design. It’s on its 2nd engine. Both sound the same.
Where do you get your short blocks from?

Befriend a couple of mechanics who work at a suby dealer and you can too. I'm really lucky that's the case for me.

Word of mouth. Friend of a friend situation.

Awesome. I’m a bit jealous...seems like every ad I come across for a car with rod knock asks for about $1000 below blue book.

Very clean for $3k. Add another $2500 for motor and misc and you have a great deal
